"Cleo"

Oil on museum quality ampersand Gessobord panel 6" x 8"

I am posting this late tonight and hope to write a bit more tomorrow afternoon. This is Cleopatra, a long haired Eastern German Shepherd. She was 13 weeks when she posed for this painting. Sorry about the huge file. I lost photoshop when I lost my computer and can't figure out how to resize things in lightroom.

Thanks, Rebecca. I'm a night owl and am at my creative peak in the wee small hours of the morning. I'm glad you were up to see it first.

Absolutely STUNNING work lately!!!!

Wow, beautiful. You might like to try GIMP, which is a free program that does about 90% of what Photoshop does. I love it.

Love the softness of the fur! And the intelligence in the eyes. What a sweet pup.

Love this one Dad! It reminds me of one of my favorite Canine friends, Nomad, who has been staying with us.

I have always found late night works best for the creative flow... I came by it honestly I suppose. Thanks!

Bun coming out of the oven any moment now, call ya soon.

Much Love

Hi, Holly. I've been thinking about you. I hope you aren't staying up too late. You'll be doing those 2:00 feedings soon enough.

Nice brushstrokes, rich color and great expression.

Thanks, Cindy.

Her puppy fuzz was fun to paint in a Don King sort of way.

Hello Mark,
I have been admiring your beautiful paintings without ever commenting before. Your paintings are lovely, and I especially love this one! I can't wait to see more.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Angela. Knowing that other fine artists are stopping by is inspirational. I took a quick peek at your blog. I particularly like the pit bull puppy painting "Baby Jack." Nice palette, brushwork, and his "Chessie Cat" pose is endearing.
