"Mardi Gras Masks"

I painted this a while ago as a birthday gift for a friend. Many of you know that New Orleans is my adopted second home and a place I visit with some frequency. We are headed down there next month, Whoo, hoo! Anyway, this painting was given away wet and very few people saw it, so here it is. "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"

Hey Mark,

New Orleans sounds like a good bike destination. How about next spring? Mardi Gras?

Hi Mark,
The colors in this painting are spectacular on my screen! And the fold of the material - let's just say "WOW". Lucky person who received this as a gift! I don't care what you told Jelaine, you are not to go into your studio and break all your brushes!!! :-)

Joanne,

You're sweet. Thanks for the kind words. It may be a while before I get back into the studio. I have to go and help out my Uncle. He is back from the hospital but needs to go back daily for radiation and chemo treatments. Fear not, my brushes are safe.

Mark, this is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! WOW! What a concept -- what color -- dramatic composition! I'm almost speechless...and as you know, that's not often for an artist! :o) Superb! Jeanne

For visually motivated people, we are a wordy bunch, aren’t we? Thanks for the praise, Jeanne. I am off to New Orleans on Thursday. I may have to look for some new masks.
