Heading South

I'm riding the bike down to Key West for Halloween and some inspiration.  I'll be back on the 4th so don't look for any new work until shortly after then.  Happy Halloween!

Hi Mark, Just found your blog and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it. Both the painting and the commentary are top notch! I'll be back.

Hello Mark!
Hope your trip has been well. I have posted all my pictures on facebook, which if you have you can find me by searching Kelsey Kinser. The paintings are wonderful and I can see that you truly are a foodie. Speaking of which, if you end up painting a daily of the toasted marshmallow I'd more likely than not want to buy that from you. I've gotta have something to hang up in my future bakery, right? I'll be updating my blog soon. Say hello to Hugh for me.

Thanks, Carol. I'm glad you like the blog. After a long road trip, getting back to the easel can be a daunting task. Cold starts have always been a thorn in my side. I'm back in the studio today and feeling refreshed.

Hi, Kelsey! Hugh and I made it back safely, although not without adventures. My shift linkage broke as I was leaving the campground, necessitating a trip to Fort Myers Harley-Davidson for a new shift rod. We managed to hold her together with wire and plumbing parts from Home Depot until we got up the coast. We had the rain at our backs all the way home but stayed dry thanks to some careful navigation through the middle of the state. I am painting your toasted marshmallow today. It should be on the blog later tonight.

Excellent! I used to work in the building next to the Fort Myers Harley dealership. Did you take route 41 up through the everglades to get to Fort Myers? Thats the route I drove home, it was gorgeous. I can't wait to see the painting, I ended up getting some really good pictures of the whole trip which I will try to put up sometime before Monday. Glad you made it back safely.
Look forward to hearing from you.
