"Chloe"

Oil on museum quality ampersand gessobord panel 6" x 8"

What is it about Jack Russells that make them so endearing? Who among us has not been amused at Eddie's antics on the TV show Fraser? An interesting factoid: the dog who portrayed Eddie was named "Moose", an odd name for a little terrier. The few Jacks that I have crossed paths with have been a bit on the nervous side and would shake uncontrollably if I so much as looked at them funny. Yet they all, without exception, had sweet dispositions and although they looked rather fragile, were tough as nails. This old gal belongs to my friends Tom and Dave.

You have done a beautiful job of capturing the Jack Russell. You are right, they are an endearing breed. I have a friend who has one, name is Shorty, when you scratch him under the neck he smiles. He is a great little dog.

Thanks, M.
We were in New York last weekend to help celebrate the 50th birthday of my wife's cousin. His dog, Jack (original eh?) was sweetness personified. I have yet to meet an ill tempered one.

Mark - Frazier is one of our all time favourite programmes in our family. In fact my daughter has just "borrowed" my dvds of the last couple of series. And wasn't Eddie / Moose absolutely wonderful in them. As is this painting Mark - I could just stroke that little dog there. Did you ever get to see any of the Rick Stein (English tv chef) series? He had a little Jack Russell called Chalky who was wiry haired but an absolute character who went everywhere with Rick. Sadly he died last year but I used to watch the programme as much to see Chalky as to see the cooking!

Sheila - English chef? Is that an oxymoron? Just kidding. I never did see the Rick Stein series but I was addicted to another of your countrymen - Keith Floyd. Floyd on France, Floyd on fish, Floyd on food, etc. were wonderfully good fun.
