"JJ with Sunflowers"

Oil on museum quality ampersand gessobord panel 8" x 10"

What, you were expecting a motorcycle piece? That would have been the logical choice but as you know, I am not a logical guy. I like to keep you guessing and JJ was lobbying for some face time. He was channeling his inner Van Gogh and I thought it only fitting to oblige him. The cerulean blue ribbon dissecting flora from fauna amused me.

  1. I believe that handsome(and my favorite) boy is on your kitchen counter... Lovely as always

  2. Thanks, Diane. You certainly know your granite counter tops. Baltic brown is a challenge to paint.

  3. My daughter and I thought this was a photograph until we looked closely at the flowers. What great attention to detail on that handsome boy. Glad you are back - your blog is a treat!

  4. Thanks, Margaret. How is the cork collection going?

  5. Haven't even filled the bottom of the jar I'm keeping them in. Need to get serious about collecting, I think. Cooked a whole chicken the other day and when I came across the wishbone, I thought of you. Ha - how crazy is that!

  7. Love the sense of implied motion. The crossed legs of the cat seem to mimic a dancer--that poised, frozen moment between movements.

  8. Thanks, Don. JJ was practicing his Demi-plie in the 3rd position.

  9. I just adore the crossed legs!

  10. Thanks, Dean. JJ is not always quite so elegant. In fact, for a cat, he is more than usually clumsy. He makes up for it by being wonderfully sweet.
